HERON

HeRON – AN ORIGINAL short comic

A deep fog drifted down the river like a veil of smoke.
Trees, wrapped in a sleepy haze, swayed gently, their slender, submerged branches moving in rhythm with the water’s flow. Only occasionally was the smooth surface broken by rippling circles — the soft splash of a fish snatching bubbles from the surface before sinking back to the bottom.

In the hush before dawn, a woman’s voice floated along the shore, fading into the stones and trees. Her lullaby flowed like a stream, trickling through the thick branches of a willow that had dropped its heavy hair into the river.
