
A legend, or perhaps just a tale — about a young man searching for happiness. A reminder that sometimes, to discover something new, you have to leave something behind.
Life flows quietly, peacefully — as long as you don’t disturb it. The feet know where to go, no matter how the path winds and strays; you'll still end up where you are meant to be. You won’t pass by what is destined. And if you drift along the river — all the simpler then. The current will carry you; just close your eyes, and when you open them again, you’ll be surprised at how perfectly your place has been guessed, how true your path has been.
Only the sea won’t let you forget. It spins you, pulls you in so deep that you can no longer tell what’s real and what is not.
One boy was listening to the sea tales that fishermen told, and he didn't notice how he grew up. So he went out to sea — to see where truth lies and where lies pretend to be truth. But who can truly tell them apart? On dark nights, many things seem real — especially far from home.

Over twenty illustrations were created using an original monotype-based technique.
These illustrations are an essential part of the narrative, enriching and enhancing the story.

So far, the book exists only in Russian. But the English version is coming soon.
Unfortunately, there is no fully illustrated version of the book published yet. For now, you can download a publication with a limited number of illustrations.
